St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner so I thought I'd do a quick round up of some past craft project.  Here are a few of my favorite St. Patrick's Day crafts that the kids and I have done over the years.

Rainbow Birthday Party {A Few Details}

My first crack at custom water labels.  Super easy to make.

Party favors: Rainbow cup with a huge rainbow crayon & ribbon stick.

My personal favorite: the Rainbow Pinata that I ordered off of Amazon.

Rainbow Birthday Party {Rainbow Cake}

Since I knew we wanted a rainbow cake, I decided it was easier to make from scratch than try to have one made somewhere.  I mixed up a standard white cake mix and divided it into 3 equal portions (I did this twice for a total of 6 rounds).  Color as you like and bake them up.  Then layer with a white buttercream icing.  It really was an easy cake to make. Back in November we celebrated Kiley's 4th birthday with a Rainbow Birthday Party at a small park near her preschool.  It was super fun and super easy to throw together. You can view posts on the cake, food, and party details so you can throw your own Rainbow Party!

St. Patrick's Day Rainbow and Pot of Gold Toilet Paper Roll Craft

It's March and that means St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner.  Here's a rainbow and pot of gold craft that we loved making.  

Pot of Gold Supply List: 1 toilet paper roll, paper plate, tissue paper, markers, glue, scissors, glitter glue

Begin by cutting your paper plate into an arch.  I drew a line for each color of the rainbow and then let Cole fill in the appropriate color.

Color in your rainbow.

Cut your toilet paper roll in half and paint it black.  Allow to dry.  Trim the end of your rainbow so that it will fit down inside the tube.  Add some wadded up tissue paper and paint a little glitter glue on top to give it that gold sparkle.

Book Suggestion: My daughter loves the book What Makes a Rainbow?  Right now it's one that she insists on bringing in the car with her whenever we go somewhere.  This is a great board book for kids just learning their colors or for talking about what colors make up a rainbow.
