Mo Willems Inspired Outfit {Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus Fabric from Cloud 9}

The other day I shared the Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late pajamas that I made for the kids.  Today I'm going to share an outfit I put together for my daughter.  As I've mentioned on previous posts, my kids are crazy for all things related to Mo Willems.  My son went as Gerald for his Kindergarten Character Parade, and they both love their matching pajamas.  For Kiley I used the Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus fabric from Cloud 9 for her skirt and headband and I created and iron on transfer using my Silhouette Cameo.

Here's a close up of her shirt.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to create an iron on transfer, the t-shirt came from Target.

This headband is the ONLY ONE she owns that will actually stay on her head.  I used the tutorial over at Happy Together By Jess.

Funny Face

I used the fabric again to create a ruffle skirt.  This was the easiest skirt I have ever done.  I will be making more of these soon.  I used the tutorial found here.

The finished product.  This outfit is a little big, which makes me happy because she can wear it for a while.

Don't Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late {Mo Willems Fabric from Cloud 9}

About a million years ago (ok, maybe a year and a half ago) Cloud 9 Fabrics released some Mo Willems, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive The Bus Fabric.  I coveted it.  I stalked fabric sites online, waiting patiently for it to be released.  Then, I bought a ton of it and put it away in my closet until I could figure out what I wanted to do with it.  Fast forward many, many months and inspiration struck.  My first project was to make the kids matching Pigeon pajamas.

I've made pajama pants before for the kids and this tutorial from Shwin & Shwin is my favorite way to do it.  I used my Silhouette Cameo and created an iron on for their shirts.  My kids are crazy about all things Mo Willems (do you remember the Gerald costume) so this was a perfect first project to attempt with my {not so newly purchased} fabric.

A Few {Frozen} Sewing Projects

Speaking of Anna & Elsa, I've also been busy with a few sewing projects.  Let me preface this by saying that if I had a sewing blog it would be called "the lazy seamstress".  I love making stuff with fabric, you know… sewing… but I hate measuring and pinning and making sure everything lines up right.  So these capes are a little imperfect, but lucky for me, my model doesn't seem to care.
