Gratitude {Days 6-11}

So I kind of fell off the blogging wagon, but I've still been taking picture with my phone every day!  

November 6 - I am thankful to live in a country where my opions count and my voice is heard.

 

November 7 - I am thankful for Target Halloween clearance.  Kiley and I were able to pick up a few princess dresses for 90% off.

 

November 8 - I'm thankful for beautiful weather and a big porch that we can sit on and just enjoy the fresh air.

November 9 - I am thankful for Kiley's imagination.  Today she told me she was going to hide in the pantry and I was suposed to be the bad guy.

November 10 - I am thankful for good friends and good drinks.  This is a picture of the after party, aftermath from our friends wedding.  

November 11 - I am thankful to be home with the kids after a weekend away.  I'm also thankful to have Kiley's new big girl bed set up!

Gratitude {Day 5}

Today I'm grateful for a husband who will work diligently on a friend's daughter's smashed iPod because he knows it means the world to me.

Gratitude {Day4}

Today I am grateful that these two get along so well.  Today at lunch they asked to sit next to each other in the booth and spent the entire time talking and playing.

Today I am grateful for all of our family and friends who came to celebrate Kiley's 3rd birthday.  It was such a wonderful day.

Today I'm grateful for much needed pajama days and spending quality time with Kiley on her last day as a 2 year old.

Gratitude {Day 1}...

So I saw the idea for a Thankful Book over on eighteen25 and decided it would be a great little project for Kristi & I this month.  I'd like to think that I'll post a picture every day this month, but who are we kidding.  If you've followed this site at all you know that I can't be trusted with a promise like that.  So here is day 1 of what may become my Thankful Book.

Today I am thankful for beautiful fall weather and outdoor seating at one of our favorite restaurants.

Cardboard Tube Turkey Feathers

Turkey Feather Supply List: 1 toilet paper roll, construction paper, google eyes, glue, scissors, feathers

Begin by cutting 5 or 6 slits on the end of your toilet paper roll about 1 inch long.  Bend them back so the stick out.

Pick out 5 or 6 different colored feathers.

Glue your feathers onto the pieces of the toilet paper roll. 

Cut a circle from some construction paper and add a beak and some google eyes.

Glue your face onto the front your toilet paper roll.

Toilet Paper Roll Grateful Gobbler

Grateful Gobbler Supply List: 1 toilet paper roll, construction paper, stapler, google eyes, markers, glue stick

Start by gluing on a beak and google eyes.

Cut out feathers from different colored construction paper.  Write on it things that you are grateful for.  Incidentally, Cole did choose to write Kiley (his sister) without be prompting him.  I love that he was grateful for crayons and markers!

Lay out your feathers and place your toilet paper roll on top.  Staple the feathers to the toilet paper roll.

Toilet Paper Roll Handprint Turkey

Handprint Turkey Supplies: 1 toilet paper roll, construction paper, paint, brush, glue, scissors, google eyes

Paint your hand and fingers using some different color paints.  I let Cole pick which paints he wanted to use.

Make your handprint on the construction paper and then repeat with the other hand.

Allow your handprints to dry and then cut them out.

Glue your hand, beak and eyes to your toilet paper roll and you turkey is ready to go.
