Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List

I did a segment on our local news about my Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List.  You can see it here.

Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List {library surprise}

 This might be my favorite mission the kids have had to complete for Operation: Nice List.  Elfie left them each $10 and challenged them to hide the dollar bills in books at the library so other kids could find them when they were reading.  We had so much fun deciding which books to hide the dollars in.

Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List {breakfast for teachers}

As part of our Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List, Elfie left Cole some money so he could buy chicken biscuits for his teachers.  They were so grateful for the breakfast surprise.

Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List {picking up trash}

Our Elf is back and this year he is challenging the kids to do some good for others during the holiday season.  Our fist mission was to pick up trash on the beach and it was a hit.  Can't wait to see what else we're challenged to do this December.

If you want to read more about my Operation: Nice List, check out my post for the Jacksonville Moms Blog.

The Elf on the Shelf - Operation: Nice List {as seen on the Jacksonville Moms Blog}

This year our Elf on the Shelf is going to do something new with the kids.  I'm calling it Operation: Nice List and you can read all about it over on the Jax Moms Blog.  Check back because tomorrow I'll share what our first mission was.

Elf on the Shelf {gone but not forgotten}

So last year after I packed Elfie away I realized that I could use him throughout the year to let the kids know that he was still *watching* them.  At Easter this year I got Elfie out and took a few pictures of him playing in the eggs and hanging out in the baskets.  Then I made a card in Shutterfly and sent it to the kids.  They were SO excited to get mail from Elfie.  I also took a few pictures of him with Cole's favorite elephant.  Since she is so big we couldn't take her on vacation last year so I sent this when we got back and wrote a note from Elfie about how much fun he had hanging out with all the toys that got left behind.

Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans

Elfie left the kids new toothbrushes and toothpaste and a little note the other day.

Inappropriate Elf Shenanigans

Let's just say that these pictures with Frito Bandito have been way more fun.

Body shots with Barbie.

Channeling his inner Heisenburg.

Recreating his favorite SNL sketch.

Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans {Day 14}

I think I might have missed a day (or two), but here's the latest from Elfie… just hanging out in Kiley's stocking.

Inappropriate Elf Shenanigans

So as I mentioned yesterday, I got tired of the kids having all the fun with their elf so I went out and bought us a second elf for some more *adult* activities.  His name is Frito Bandito Shenaniganito and he is fabulous!

His first night Frito Bandito got into hubby's advent calendar.

The next night he went for some bigger bottles.

Having some fun at the craft store.

Inappropriate Elf Contest

Say Hello to my Little Friend!!

So I've been having some fun with a second Elf at our house.  His name is Frito Bandito Shenaniganito and he is naughty.  I've done a bunch of inappropriate things with him (I'll share later in the week), but for now I'm entering the 2013 Inappropriate Elf Contest over at Baby Rabies.  This is my best attempt at a Tony Montana, Scarface Elf.

Toilet Paper Roll Snowflake Ornament

This ornament is similar to the one I posted a few days ago but with a different twist.

Supply List: white spray paint, 1 toilet paper roll, glitter glue, scissors, stapler, pipe cleaner

Squish your toilet paper roll in half and cut small strips with your scissors.

Use your stapler to connect the strips into a flower shape.  Take your flower shape outside and spray paint it white.  Allow plenty of time for it to dry.

Add some sparkly glitter glue.

Use your pipe cleaner to hang that beauty up on the tree.  It's hard to see how much it sparkles in this picture, but my kids love the glitter glue so it is nice an twinkly.

Book Suggestion: We are crazy about the Old Lady books around here.  There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow! is another awesome addition to our collection.  Even if you live where it doesn't snow (ahem, Florida) kids can still appreciate this funny, rhyming story.

Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Ornament

I'm going to take a break from Elf Shenanigans for the next day or two to post some toilet paper roll crafts for the Christmas holiday.  But don't worry, Elfie will be back before you know it.

Supply List: 1 toilet paper roll, green construction paper, stapler, paint, scissors

Fold your toilet paper in half and squish it down.  Cut 6 small strips of your toilet paper roll.

Use your stapler to form the toilet paper roll strips into a flower shape.  You could also use glue, but we're really impatient around here so I just used a stapler.

Paint your flower red and glue a few green circles into the center.

Use your pipe cleaner to hang this lovely little ornament to the tree.  This would almost make a nice gift for a grandparent.

Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans {Day 13}

The kids discovered Elfie eating the 4 elf food groups today: candy, candy canes, candy corn & syrup.

Elf on the Shelf Shenanigans {Day 11 & 12}

Forgot to post these the other day.  Elfie got into our Rainbow Loom one night and the next day he made a dog sled out of some hex bugs.  Silly Elf.
