Summer Boredom Busters for Kids :: Fishing Game

This fishing game is from a few years back, but it's still a big hit at our house.  The kids will take turns setting it up for each other to go "fishing".  Click here for instructions so you can make your own game.

A Camping We Will Go

At the end of the month we are taking the kids to one of our favorite state parks up in Georgia.  I thought this would be a great time to revisit some of my favorite "camping themed" crafts that we've done.

Paper Towel Roll Fishing Game

Fishing Game Supply List: 2 paper towel rolls, paper clips, glue, scissors, small fish, wrapping paper tube fishing pole

Begin by cutting out your fish.  You could use sticker or some from a coloring book.  We used some from a flyer we had.

Cut your paper towel rolls into 1 inch sections and glue your fish to the tubes.

Slip a paper clip over your cardboard tube and grab your pole.  It's time for a little fishing.

Cardboard Tube Fishing Pole

Fishing Pole Supply List: 1 wrapping paper tube, ribbon, hole punch, magnet

Use your hole punch to put 2 holes in the end of you wrapping paper tube.

Tie the other end to a magnet.  We used a magnetic dart from a game we had.

An easy peasy fishing pole.  Tomorrow I'm show you a fishing game that we made to use our pole with.

Book Suggestion: Gone Fishing is a great book about a boy and his dad and their fishing adventures.  It had great pictures and simple text that my kids really enjoyed.
