Purple Peacock Toilet Paper Roll Project

Peacock Supply List: 1 toilet paper roll, paint, 1 sheet of white paper, colored pencils or crayons, glue, google eyes, scissors, small piece of yellow paper
Start by painting your toilet paper roll.  Cole choose to use a pink/purple mix.  Allow your toilet paper roll to dry.
While your paint is drying, color some designs on your piece of paper.
Fold your paper into a fan.  Cut out a piece of purple paper for a head and 2 wings.
Glue your fan to the back of your toilet paper roll and glue your wings and head on your peacock.

Book Suggestion: The Spooky Tail of Prewitt Peacock is an old favorite by one of my favorite authors, Bill Peet.  Prewitt's shamefully scraggly tail develops the appearance of a scary monster and the other peacocks decide it has to go.  A fun story for the pre-school crowd.

That is so cute! We did princesses for P week, but I love the purple peacock...maybe next time around with my son, who won't likely be into princesses! Here's my P week post: http://www.morethanmundane.com/2011/03/08/p-is-for-princess-of-course/

Shannon: Your blog is getting better and better! We have been collecting cardboard tubes for about 2 weeks now and have a pretty small stash but we are making the peacock this morning! Will send you a pic, provided I get even a decent one!
